How to become a pharmacy technician in Missouri

Missouri does not require training or certification for techs. You register with the Board and get fingerprinted. Foothills gives you the knowledge and the PTCE credential employers look for.

The 5 steps in Missouri

  1. Take the Foothills course. Online, self-paced, about 4 months.
  2. Pass the PTCE. Not required in Missouri, but useful for jobs.
  3. Get fingerprinted. Through IdentoGO/MACHS, about $47. Use Board registration number 0003.
  4. Apply to register. Once your application and fee are in, you may assist a pharmacist. Keep a copy at work. Check with the Board for the fee.
  5. Display your certificate. Post it at work and renew on schedule.
