A community-college pharmacy technician program can run $3,000 to $15,000 and take six to twelve months, often with a waitlist before you can even start. We thought that was backwards. The exam is the same, the textbooks are the same, and the knowledge is the same — so the price and the wait shouldn't be the thing standing between motivated people and a real career.
Foothills was founded to close that gap. We built an independent, PTCB-recognized program that uses the same Paradigm Education curriculum and textbooks found in accredited college programs, delivered fully online and self-paced, for a one-time $180 enrollment. Our students enroll from across the United States and study on their own schedule — many while working full-time.

What we are — and what we aren't.
Foothills is a PTCB-Recognized education/training program. That means our coursework meets the educational standards of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and qualifies you to sit for the PTCE and earn the CPhT credential.
- ✓We are PTCB-recognized, which is what most states look for in a training program.
- ✓We aren't ASHP/ACPE-accredited — that's a separate, college-level institutional accreditation. We are not a college.
- ✓We don't guarantee passing the PTCE or a job, and we don't offer financial aid, in-person labs, or externship placement.
- ✓We do tell out-of-state students to confirm requirements with their state Board of Pharmacy, since rules vary by state.

Thirty-three years ago, our lead instructor filled his first prescription in a North Carolina pharmacy. Since then he's worked retail counters, hospital pharmacies, and compounding labs — and spent five years teaching pharmacy technician students at the community-college level, with the same curriculum we use today.
