Real training, made affordable.
A community-college pharmacy technician program can run $3,000 to $15,000 and take six to twelve months, often with a waitlist before you can even start. We thought that was backwards. The exam is the same, the textbooks are the same, and the knowledge is the same — so the price and the wait shouldn't be the thing standing between motivated people and a real career.
Foothills was founded to close that gap. We built an independent, PTCB-recognized program that uses the same Paradigm Education curriculum and textbooks found in accredited college programs, delivered fully online and self-paced, for a one-time $180 enrollment. Our students enroll from across the United States and study on their own schedule — many while working full-time.
The principles behind the program.
Affordable by design
One-time $180 enrollment, with every other cost shown up front. No monthly payments, no surprise fees, no debt.
Accessible nationwide
100% online and self-paced, so where you live and what hours you work don't decide whether you can train.
Honest about what we are
We tell you exactly what PTCB recognition means, what's included, and what you'll buy separately — before you enroll.
What we are — and what we aren't.
Foothills is a PTCB-Recognized education/training program. That means our coursework meets the educational standards of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and qualifies you to sit for the PTCE and earn the CPhT credential.
Taught by someone who's been behind the counter.
Thirty-three years ago, our lead instructor filled his first prescription in a North Carolina pharmacy. Since then he's worked retail counters, hospital pharmacies, and compounding labs — and spent five years teaching pharmacy technician students at the community-college level, with the same curriculum we use today.
That experience is the difference between memorizing for an exam and understanding how a pharmacy actually runs. It's built into every lesson, every example, and every answer you get when you email us a question.
Verifiable with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
