How to become a pharmacy technician in Delaware
Delaware does not require an outside program. Techs finish a training program set by the pharmacist-in-charge within 90 days of starting work. Passing the PTCE makes you a certified pharmacy technician in Delaware.
The 5 steps in Delaware
- Take the Foothills course. Online, self-paced, about 4 months.
- Pass the PTCE. Delaware defines a certified tech as one who passed the PTCB exam or another national exam.
- Get hired. Training starts on your first day of work.
- Finish employer training in 90 days. Your pharmacist-in-charge sets the content.
- Check on registration. We did not find a separate state tech license. Call the Division of Professional Regulation at (302) 744-4500 to confirm.
