How to become a pharmacy technician in Connecticut
Connecticut does not require a specific school. But you cannot register until a Connecticut pharmacy hires you, and you must finish your employer's training. Registration is $100, then $50 every year.
The 5 steps in Connecticut
- Take the Foothills course. Online, self-paced, about 4 months.
- Pass the PTCE. Not required to register. Certified techs let a pharmacy use a 3 to 1 tech ratio, which can help you get hired.
- Get hired by a CT pharmacy. Registration is tied to a job. You need the position first.
- Start employer training and register. Register within 30 days after starting your employer's training. The fee is $100.
- Renew every year. Renewal is $50 each year, due March 31.
Costs beyond Foothills in Connecticut
- $100 state registration
- $50 annual renewal
