How to become a pharmacy technician in Arizona
In Arizona you need to pass a national certification exam to get your full pharmacy technician license. That's exactly what Foothills prepares you for.
The 4 steps in Arizona
- Meet the basics. You need to be 18 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent. Arizona also requires a DPS fingerprint clearance card for the full license.
- Start as a technician trainee (optional). A trainee license lets you work and learn while you prepare. It lasts up to 36 months and can't be repeated.
- Pass the PTCE. Arizona requires a passing score on the PTCE (PTCB) or ExCPT (NHA) for the full technician license. Foothills is PTCB-recognized, so finishing it makes you eligible for the PTCE.
- Apply for your technician license. With your certification, apply to the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy for the full license.
